Book Light Up our World

Welcome to North Nowra Public School Library.  Our library is the hub of the school where a love of reading and literature is fostered and vital information and research skills taught to all students.

Our collection boasts a wide range of resources- fiction and non-fiction books, DVDs, CDs, puppets, board games, maps, picture sets, digital books and Asian and Aboriginal artefacts.

The library is adjacent to the school's computer lab facilitating student access to information technology.  Part of the library is dedicated to a video conferencing room and an interactive screen has recently been installed in the student work area.

Connect to the Past

All classes visit once a week.  Students are encouraged to use a library bag to store and carry books.  Library bags are on sale from the school canteen.

Students are restricted to a maximum number of loans at any given time.  There are no fines for overdue loans but lending rights might be affected.  Students are asked to pay for lost books.

Interested Stage 3 students are rostered on as library monitors each week.  Their roles includes shelving, helping with displays and overseeing the lunchtime recreational program which offers activities including art and craft, board game challenges, puppet shows, computer games and movies.

My Library

All students have a personal password for accessing the DET portal on a home computer.  To view our school's collection, students can use the My Library link on the DET portal to search for available resources.
