Positive Behaviour for Learning

"Positive Behaviour for Learning" (PBL)

PBL enhances the capacity of schools to teach and succeed with all students. PBL is a proactive approach to school-wide behaviour management and is designed to be responsive to current social and educational challenges.

Brochure for Families (pdf 1812 KB)

The program underpins all aspects of school life, and it informs students, staff and wider community behaviours during both learning and play times.

PBL has a TEACHING focus where an emphasis is placed on:

* teaching behaviour expectations explicitly like we do learning skills

* maximising academic engagement and success

* using teaching support to remediate behaviour errors before resorting to punishment

We celebrate short-term successes, encourage medium-term perseverance and honour long-term consistently positive behaviour choices. Our reward processes can be found here - Celebrating Positive Behaviour.

We provide consistent consequences that can respond flexibly to individual student's needs.  Our processes to encourage positive behaviour can be found at - Encouraging Positive Behaviour.
