Kindergarten Enrolment for 2019 - we would love you to join us!

Kindergarten enrolment 2019

Phone 02 4422 7045 or email us at northnowra-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au.

We are a large "small" school - with approximately 200 students.

We are small enough to provide individual support when needed and large enough to offer a variety of opportunities.

We have a lovely school environment with lots of undercover areas to play when it is hot or wet.

We have shady trees, a large oval, modern play equipment, and grassy areas to chill under and play on.

Is your child old enough to start kindergarten?

Your child can start Kindergarten at the beginning of 2019 (Friday 1st February)  if they turn five on or before 31 July 2018. By law, all children must be enrolled in school by their sixth birthday.

Please ring or email the school to make an appointment.

Enrolment appointments

For your appointment, you will need to bring these documents with you:

  • your child's birth certificate or identity documents
  • proof of student's address – originals of different documents such as your council rates notice or residential lease and electricity bill
  • Immunisation history statement based on the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR)
  • family law or other relevant court orders (if applicable).

If your child is not a permanent resident you will also need to provide:

  • passport or travel documents
  • current visa and previous visas (if applicable).

It's important that you tell the Principal if your child has any special circumstances, allergies, health or medical conditions before your child starts school.

After your appointment with us, you may be asked to complete an application to enrol in a NSW Public School form and return it to us.

Are You Within our School Catchment Area?

All primary schools have catchment areas (also called "designated intake area").

The map below shows our catchment area.

Schools may accept enrolments from outside their local area if places are available.

If you are unsure if you live within the boundaries please come to our school front office to view a more detailed map.

Out of Area Enrolments

Students who live outside of the school catchment area can apply to North Nowra Public School as an out of area enrolment. Out of area enrolments are only accepted if the application meets the school out of area enrolment policy. Please contact the school for enrolment procedures as an out of area enrolment.

Changing Schools?

  • If your child is currently enrolled in a NSW public school, contact us to discuss the enrolment procedures and obtain the necessary paperwork.
  • If your child is coming from a non-government school, contact us to make an appointment to discuss your child's potential enrolment.
  • If your child has a temporary visa or visitor visa you will first need to apply to enrol by contacting the temporary residents' program (see the web link below) who will give you forms to bring to the school.
